It has been said, and rightly so, that the church is not an organization, but a living organism. Even so, we must have some form of organization in order to function effectively. The Bible gives us a great deal of latitude about the structure by which the local church should be governed. Our goal at The Pointe Church is to maintain a simple yet effective biblical structure.
The Pointe is a pastor-led church. We have several pastors who are responsible for coordinating the ministry, with the Lead Pastor providing oversight for the ministry as a whole. These men have demonstrated clear evidence of God’s calling in their lives and have been commissioned to their leadership role at The Pointe Church. Their responsibilities include providing spiritual direction as well as coordinating the administration of the affairs of the church. The primary function of each pastor is to “equip the saints for works of service.” The Pointe operates as a 501-C3 non-profit organization with a board of trustees who are responsible for the legal affairs of the church. The trustees carry the ultimate responsibility and authority for the church as a legal entity. The Lead Pastor serves as a trustee and “president” of the corporation.
The ministry of The Pointe is volunteer-based and carried out by individuals organized into Church Teams. A specific Church Team operates each area of ministry. Our pastors work with the leaders of each Church Team to ensure that they have the resources, support, training, and encouragement that their teams need.
